IW Candy Press Goes Live

So here we are, a new venture aimed at… well. We don’t quite fully know yet.

The stated aim so far is to provide an alternative view of Island News. Expect sarcasm, satire, a condescending tone and possible tabloid moments, all wrapped up with love from us.

We hope to do the occasional serious story too, and we’re sure to upset a few of the Island’s bigger companies along the way.

Watch this space.

Hurrah, hurrah, hurrah! As a long term fan of the Framley Examiner I’ve parodied so many CP stories in my head. I’m so exited by this I could bust. But watch yourselves pardners. Those who simply don’t understand will do all in their power to have you run outta town…

When are you going to publish your first story about Ecoisland?
You can’t be The Candy Press without a story about Ecoisland (and preferably a photo of someone getting an Award).

My favourite ever headline from the genuine article has to be ‘Dung heap on fire‘. The launch of this website in answer to such things has just made my day 🙂

Absolutely. The first County Press I bought when I moved here ran a story (front page I think) saying ‘Cow Falls off Cliff’. I scanned it and send it to all back on the north island. A sign of things to come.
