Israeli forces have killed two Palestinians, including a teenage boy, during separate raids in the Jenin governorate in the occupied West Bank, Palestinian officials said. Security camera footage circulating locally appears to show one of the victims being shot at close range.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health said late Saturday that Rayyan Abdel Qader, 16, was killed after Israeli forces raided the town of Qabatiya. The second victim, Ahmad Zayoud, 22, was killed in the nearby town of Silat al-Harithiya, west of Jenin.
Teenager Killed in Qabatiya Raid
According to witnesses cited by Palestinian media, Israeli troops opened fire directly at Abdel Qader during the raid and prevented emergency teams from reaching him. He was left bleeding until he died, and his body was later taken by Israeli forces.
Reporting from Bethlehem, Al Jazeera correspondent Nida Ibrahim said surveillance footage showed Abdel Qader walking toward what residents described as his home when he was shot “point-blank.” She added that soldiers blocked access to the scene for several minutes, a practice Palestinians say has become increasingly common during raids.
Family members told Al Jazeera they were unaware of what had happened until footage began circulating. Ibrahim said such videos add to the trauma families experience, highlighting what they view as a lack of regard for Palestinian lives.

Second Death Reported in Silat al-Harithiya
The Palestinian Health Ministry said Zayoud was shot in the chest during a separate incident in Silat al-Harithiya. A 15-year-old boy was also injured in the hand during the same raid. Zayoud’s killing came about a week after another 16-year-old was killed by Israeli forces in the area.
Israeli Military Response
The Israeli military said the two Palestinians were killed after allegedly throwing objects and explosives at its forces, claims Palestinians and rights groups frequently dispute. The military said no Israeli soldiers were injured in either incident.
Rising Death Toll in the West Bank
The latest deaths bring the number of Palestinians killed by Israeli forces in the occupied West Bank since October 7, 2023, to more than 1,100, including at least 229 children, according to Palestinian figures. Thousands more have been arrested during that period, with many held without formal charges.
Rights groups have repeatedly raised concerns about the treatment of Palestinian detainees and a surge in settler violence, while Israel has recently approved the construction of additional settlements in the West Bank, a move widely viewed as a violation of international law.
Violence Continues in Gaza
Meanwhile, medical sources in Gaza said two Palestinians were killed by Israeli fire on Sunday in the Shujayea neighbourhood of Gaza City. Additional shelling and helicopter fire were reported near Khan Younis in the south.
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has warned that continued Israeli violations of the ceasefire risk undermining efforts to move to the next phase of negotiations brokered by the United States.
Palestinian authorities say deaths linked to Israeli attacks and infrastructure collapse have continued since the ceasefire took effect, underscoring the fragility of the truce and the ongoing humanitarian toll.
